Day 25 of February Sweetheart Challenge!

Day 25

I hope you’re pressing on.  Take it one day at a time.  It’s a marathon, not a sprint.  I’m feeling tired and cranky today.  Time to get my Yoga on;)))

1) Thursday- Yoga Day

2) Food- Clean Up Your Diet!!!

3. Mantra for the Day-  Kill the Spirit of Judgment!
Do you ever get insecure about what others think about you?  Do you ever wonder if people are talking about you or criticizing you behind your back?  If you have ever felt that way, you struggle with the spirit of judgment.  So, if you are afraid of what others are thinking about you it’s because you are casting judgment on other people.  You might say, “ME!?  Never!!!”  Well, how’s your judgment with yourself?  Now, I know you’re saying, “Well,  that doesn’t count!” LOL!  Yes, it does count! What you put out there will come back to you.  So, STOP IT!!! The more you focus on honoring others (including yourself, actually, especially yourself) the more you will kill the spirit of judgment in your life.  You will begin to notice that you really don’t care what people are thinking abut you.  Seriously, it’s such a liberating feeling to walk free from judgment and condemnation.  Practice love and grace.  That will go a long way…with others, and most importantly, yourself!

Love you guys and I’m rooting for you:)))  XOXO!!!

Day 24 of February Sweetheart Challenge!

We will begin Monday, March 4th!!!

I’m really excited for the great news from some of my clients about what they got out of the “Sweetheart Challenge”!!!

“Thank you, Judy and group for a great month!!!! Although I didn’t make my weight goals for the month, I think I’m on track for a healthier walk in exercise and eating. I’m grateful for the posts from everyone it encouraged me to keep going. I’m also SO glad for Judy’s great workout posts!! I love these. I can do them from home on my own schedule and they reinvented the way I workout and It’s not a boring routine which makes me want to stop working out. I loved the sweetheart challenge and sad to see this stop. I know I need this reminder.” -Sweetheart Challenge Member
“I personally loved the “Sweetheart Challenge” and used the relational tools to help my marriage. Honestly, in the beginning, my husband and I were arguing and I didn’t want to follow the daily challenge. Yet, I did it anyway. It worked! It helped me to be grateful for my husband and reminded me of everything that he was doing right. I chose to express gratitude instead of the things I was mad about. I would not have even thought to do that on my own. I am grateful for the February Challenge. My husband said, “All I know is that I like that Challenge that you are doing!” Thank you for helping our marriage!” -Sweetheart Challenge Member

1) Wednesday- Upper Body Day

2) Food- Portion Control!

3. Mantra for the Day-  Don’t you Dare Give Up!!!
This month we have been focused on relationships. Whenever you have people, you will have problems.  If you are in a relationship and you’re in a difficult season, DON’T.GIVE.UP!!!  Sometimes, you just need to persevere through it. Fake it until you make it!  Action causes emotion!  Just discipline yourself to do what it right, even if you don’t want to.  Interestingly, you can apply this in your health journey.  You won’t always feel like working out, eating right, or planning your meals.  DON’T.GIVE.UP!!!  You will eventually get to a place where you will enjoy it.  Just like your relationship, you will get to a place of deep love.  The more you persevere, the deeper the trust and intimacy.  The problem is that we quit before we get to experience that.  Again, just like our health goals, we tend to give up before we can taste the victory.  Hang in there!!!  You can do this:))))

Love you guys and I’m rooting for you:)))  XOXO!!!

Day 23 of February Sweetheart Challenge!

Day 23

How’s it going?  Everyday is a new opportunity to change your life.  Don’t take this day for granted.  What you plant you will reap the benefits of.  It’s only four months until summer!!!  What are you planting today that you will reap in four months!?  Don’t procrastinate, don’t dilly dally, know that today makes a difference!

1) Tuesday- Try ZUMBA!

Tuesday is normally our cardio day.  I’m not a fan of cardio but I LOVE Zumba!  Try it:)
Just sayin’!;)

2) Food- Paleo Post! What do you think?  Have you tried it?

3. Mantra for the Day-  Let it go….
Part of the process of letting go is to not concern yourself with people’s opinions of yourself.  I know we talk about this a lot.  We need the reminders.  I need the reminders.  I’m so proud of one of my clients who has learned to turn off the negative tapes that go off when she starts to feel low.  Those tapes come back quickly and loud too!  She has learned to change the tapes and learn to replace it with good, positive, loving voices.  You can do it too.  Just input more positive and reject the negative.  You don’t have to listen to the critics.  You have to be your own biggest fan instead of your biggest enemy:)

Love you guys and I’m rooting for you:)))  XOXO!!!

Day 22 of February Sweetheart Challenge!

Day 22

Happy Monday!!! I’m ready for this week!  I hope you are too.  Make sure you are intentional about your workout, eating, and stress management.  Take some time to plan so that your week will go smoothly:)))

1) Monday- Cross Fit Inspired Workouts!

I’m going to try these with my class today.  My goal is to make them cry!!!:)))) LOL!

2) Food- Plan and Prepare for Victory!

3. Mantra for the Day-  Unplug!
Challenge yourself to really be present and engaged today.  Look at people and really ‘see’ them.  Smile:)  In this world with such advanced technology, we have become so distant.  Even in social media, we have the appearance of intimacy but in reality we are starving for connection.  We had some friends over today and we’re going to be hosting a mixer/party for our single friends to meet each other.  We are calling the party “Unplugged”!  Guests have to check their phones in at the door and they actually have to communicate with one another.  What a novel concept! LOL!  I have to admit, this is hard for me.  I live in the virtual world.  It’s a good reminder to experience life instead of posting about it.  How about you!?  Are you ready to unplug?  Challenge yourself to have time during the day to do just that.

Love you guys and I’m rooting for you:)))  XOXO!!!

2) Seven Rules to Live By:

3.  Mantra for the Day: You are Enough!
As an overachiever, workaholic, type A personality, OCD type person, it can be tempting to think that you need to be doing more.  “If only” becomes the constant mantra in your head…”if only” I was skinnier, healthier, faster, richer, prettier, a better wife, mother, employee, employer, etc…..At the end of the day, what is the ROOT!?  Why do we aspire to all these things!?  What are we trying to gain!?  There’s such a vacuum and an insatiable appetite for approval.  What exactly are we trying to prove!?  Who are we seeking approval from!?  Take a deep cleansing breath and know that you are already approved!!!  You are already accepted!!!  It doesn’t matter what others think of you.  It only matters what God thinks of you.  Honestly, if we don’t surrender to that, we will be constantly looking for approval in so many places and we will keep coming up empty handed.  You are more than enough.  I believe in you and I’m grateful to be in this journey with you.  Just take it one day at a time:)))

Love you guys and I’m rooting for you:)))  XOXO!!!

Day 19 of February Sweetheart Challenge!

2) Date Night Ideas:)

5 Healthy Date Night Ideas

Courtney Lenoir 02/14/2013 1

5 healthy date ideas

Have you heard of a pesky phenomenon called love weight? When someone gets involved in a relationship, they start to become less aware of what or how much they are eating because they subconsciously want to keep up with their date or they just get comfortable with their partner and forget about their usual healthy habits.

Of course, this is no one’s fault, but occasionally this leads to love weight. Why not plan a new kind of date for the next time you spend time with your husband, boyfriend, or even your “it’s complicated” friend…while keeping your health and well-being in mind!

A dinner and a movie date is classic and can be cute, but also goes hand in hand with concession stand highly processed snacks and drinks. If you’re looking to make a change and have a healthy lifestyle with your partner, steer clear of these temptations by doing something different!

Here are some ideas of date night plans that keep your wellbeing in mind:

1. Swap Dinner and a Movie for Picnic and a Stroll

Take your date to your favorite outdoor spot whether it be a park, beach or nature trail. After strolling outside for a while and taking in your surroundings, pick a spot to rest and have a picnic prepared.

This would be the perfect time to pack up some fruit and veggies that are easy to transport and need no preparation. Another suggestion, to further embrace your inner hippie among the trees is to pack your favorite granola to snack on as well!

2. Take a Healthy Cooking Class Together

Remember our Sur La Table experience? Learning something new together is always a super fun date idea. By taking a cooking class, you are not only making your meal right then and there, but you can also take your skills home for the next time you are having dinner together! Thinking about it that way a cooking class is multiple dates in one—the date that keeps on giving.

Of course, choosing which class to attend makes or breaks the health factor of this date. Luckily, with the wellness revolution in full swing, this shouldn’t be too hard to find.

Look up some cooking schools in your area, and see if they have any classes coming up with a healthy theme. Or, if you research and are out of luck with nothing nearby, take an online class! Yes, this is a bit more complicated because you will have to shop for your own ingredients and supplies, but think of all the fun you will have pretending to be a Top Chef in Kitchen Stadium.

Challenge accepted?

Here are two resources for online classes: Nina Cucina or Cheap Healthy and Good Free Cooking Lessons to Try.

3. Go to a Partner Yoga Class

Yoga is a great way to strengthen a relationship. It is centered around concentrating inward into your emotions and mental well-being, and building a healthy relationship with yourself. When done in tandem with a significant other, this could be a great way to enhance your bond as a couple and get in some exercise together.

In addition to the emotional aspects of partner yoga, it can be a really fun way to try something new together! Smiling makes every workout better, and seeing your date in some comical positions will make it that much more fun. Even if you are an experienced yogi, how many times have you done a partner class, if at all?

Go to a studio near you, or try an online yoga class at home! Try Yoga Vibes or Yoga Download.

4. Get Pampered Together

This idea will probably have a higher price tag, but booking a couples massage could be an idea for a special date night for a birthday, anniversary or valentine’s day.

Getting massaged is a great way to relieve stress, and ease any soreness or stiffness from day to day life. With all the time we all spend in front of a computer, hunched over the keyboard, (*cough cough, me right now..) or sitting with bad posture, our bodies need to be released from the poor alignment to continue feeling great. In addition, it is said that emotion can be held up in your body when you feel tense. A massage together could help you both open up and connect as a couple.

5. Challenge your Date to a Bowl Off

Even if the last time you went to a bowling alley was for your best friend’s 7th birthday, don’t count out the good old fashioned fun. When thinking about bowling in a health sense, consider all of the weight you lift each time you take a turn.

Challenge your date to a game or two. Adding a bit of competition to a date always makes it more flirty and fun, and no matter if you win or lose, calories will be burned. On average, for a person who weighs 155lbs, you will burn 211 calories per hour of bowling. However, depending on your size and the weight of the ball you use the amount of calories will vary.

3. Mantra for the Day-  Be Yourself!
Part of this journey is learning how to be comfortable in our own skin.  You have to figure out who you are and then fall in love with that person.  It took me a long time to accomplish that.  I’m still a work in progress and I still have bad days.  Over all, I love who I’ve become, I love who I’m becoming, and I love the process.  To me, being myself is being free to express myself without the worry and doubt of being rejected or criticized.  It is so freeing not to care what people think!  I know that not everyone is going to agree with me.  I’m OK with that.  I know that even if we disagree on something, I can still love and respect that person.  I hope you can find that place in your heart that can accept who you are, flaws and all and really be madly in love with the journey!

Love you guys and I’m rooting for you:)))  XOXO!!!

3. Mantra for the Day-  Don’t Give Up!

This goes for everything.  Relationships, fitness, career, education, etc…Life is a challenge.  Life was never meant to be easy or fair.  Persevere, be patient, and know that all you can do is give your best.  I love this quote.  I hope it inspires you:)))

Love you guys and I’m rooting for you:)))  XOXO!!!

Day 17 of February Sweetheart Challenge

Day 17

Happy Hump Day!  Sometimes this journey is hard.  It’s so much easier to live our lives by default and not by design.  Unfortunately, nothing worth having is easy.  It takes hard work, dedication, and self control to really live by design.  Someone commented how lucky I was to have good genes.  Genes have nothing to do with it!  Actually, my default is diabetes and obesity.  I do not judge people because I could totally see how easy it would be to be 300 pounds and sitting around all day.  I’ve done that before.  I never reached 300 pounds but my mentality was fat, depressed, battling eating disorders, and hopelessness.  I work SUPER hard to stay in shape.  I eat well and I work out consistently.  I wish I could say that everyday was easy and automatic.  It’s not!!!  The longer you do it, it does get easier but it’s not effortless.  So, no matter where you are on your journey, know that even the “experts” are struggling.  I read the other day that Jillian Micheals hates her hips. LOL!  We all have stuff.  No one is perfect.  The key is to enjoy life and balance.

1) Wednesday- Upper Body Day

It’s almost short sleeve season!!!  Well, I live in Los Angeles which means it’s always short sleeve season!!!:)))  Don’t forget those tri-ceps!  Those seem to be the first to go.  Try these!  Let us know what you think.

2) Food- Smart Snacking Ideas!!!

3. Mantra for the Day- Get over Yourself!
Letting go of the ego is the heaviest weight to lose!  Sometimes, we have a chip on our shoulder and we think everyone has an opinion about us when in reality, we just have too much ego.  Ego is what drives us to perform, it drives us to prove others wrong.  Ego will keep you up at night.  Letting go of the ego means resigning from the throne of judgement.  I wrote a status post today that said, “Just because you disagree with someone doesn’t mean you can’t honor them.”  Letting go of the ego means you’re not concerned when someone has a different opinion than you.  In our relationships, we have this idea that we have to agree on everything to be in a right relationship.  This is not true.  Not everyone is going to agree with you.  It’s OK!!!  The key to letting go of the ego is to honor.  If we sow honor in to our spouse, children, boss, employees, clients, and even strangers, then that’s what you will reap.   The more you honor others, the more you crush the ego.  My success coach and mentor, Dani Johnson always says, “If you don’t care who gets the credit, you will be unusually successful!” WOW!  Ego says, “I want to be recognized!”  When you are working so hard and no one notices that you lost weight, you just want to give up and quit.  WHY!?  It’s ego!  Your motives are revealed when you are doing this for others.  STOP the crazy cycle.  Who cares what people think!  Be secure in who you are and WHOSE you are:)))  You are in this for the long haul.  If you give up every time there’s opposition, you won’t make it.  Do it for you, do it because it’s right, do it because you are worth it!!!

Love you guys and I’m rooting for you:)))  XOXO!!!

Day 16 of February Sweetheart Challenge!

Day 16

Sorry, I missed Monday.  Here we are ready for Tuesday!  I hope you are ready to go after it.  No matter where you are today, keep going and do your best.  Stay in the moment!!!

1) Tuesday- Cardio Day!

Pick a cardio workout and do it!  I’ll be dancing and doing some HIIT Training today.  Don’t even think about it.  Just make it a priority and don’t flake!  You are important!!!

2) Food- Back to Juicing!

3. Love Post!  Love takes Work:)

Having been married for almost seventeen years, I still consider myself a novice:)  People think that you just get lucky and find the “one”!  Well, luck has nothing to do with it.  It’s an investment and it takes work.  Erik and I invest in our marriage.  I’m grateful to be married to a man who has no ego.  He’s willing to learn and try new things.  We go to several seminars per year, marriage retreats, marriage workshops, as well as read marriage books, listen to talks on marriage on CD’s or DVD’s and many more.  We date regularly and we dream together.  Times get tough and we learn how to fight fair.  We have strict boundaries about what to say and what not to say.  We’re a work in progress but it’s a wonderful journey I wouldn’t trade for anything in the whole wide world!!!  Of course, GOD is the center of our relationship.  Without Him, we’re doomed!!!  We are very lucky to belong to a community of believers that are all trying to walk in the light and have vibrant, thriving marriages.  One of the events that we go to without fail is our annual “Marriage for Dummies” event!  We love this event and we try to bring as many people as possible to experience what it’s like to be in a room of people who are all trying to invest in their marriage.  Our culture and media portrays marriage as a life sentence. That could not be further from the truth!  Come and see what it’s really all about!!!  If you live in the Los Angeles area, please join us!!!

Love you guys and I’m rooting for you:)))  XOXO!!!

Day 13 & 14 of February Sweetheart Challenge

Day 13 & 14

Hello weekend!  I have an action packed weekend ahead of me.  Even though my weekend is crazy, I make the time to grocery shop and prep for the week.  This has saved me time and money.  We have saved over $300 a month just meal planning and sticking to a list!  How about you? Do you meal plan?

1) Saturday- Activity Day!!!  Do something that will get the blood pumping and enjoy friends and family.  Enjoy the outdoors!!!  Here are some ideas:)

Sunday- Take your rest day.  Super important to let the body heal and recover:)

2) Food- Here’s a Great Meal Plan!

3. Love Post! - No more negative self talk!!!
As a trainer, I hear people talk about all the things they hate about themselves.  They talk about their big thighs, flabby belly, jiggly arms, big butt, etc…I always tell my clients, “Whatever you focus on, you will get more of!”  The more you think about all the things you hate, the more you will get of it.  From now on, my classes will be a “love zone”…you are only allowed to talk about all the things you love about your body.  OK…you first, tell me what you love about yourself!?

Love you guys and I’m rooting for you:)))  XOXO!!!
