Day 74 of 90 Day Challenge!

Day 74

I want to take this time to encourage some amazing people! These are the women who have worked so hard to train so many of you this year.  It’s an honor and a privilege to be able to work with these amazing women.  They are highly gifted in the way they inspire, motivate and push people to be their best.  I love the fact that all of them have such great hearts for people.  All these women have my utmost respect.  They are models of integrity, perseverance and faith.  Coach JC is so knowledgeable and does a killer Kettle class!!!  Vanessa has had a busy year and had to cut back her classes but when she teaches, you can be sure she will kick your butt with a smile:)  Bernadette is our newest addition and her energy is infectious!  She’s extremely talented and ready to jump in to take more classes in 2013.  Please join me in honoring these women!!!

1. Thursday- Yoga Day!  I had a complete irrational fear of being upside down.  I’ve been doing yoga for almost six years and it still makes me nervous.  Headstands are really a mental challenge.  Technically, it’s really not that hard but getting over the fear is the hard part.  I had to keep practicing and I had to be OK about falling.  It’s a good life lesson:)))  Try it!!!

2.  Food- Let’s not make food our master.  You be in control of what goes in your body.  Stay connected, mindful, engaged and present.  Really make the effort to be in the moment and not let excuses get the best of you.  Plan, plan, plan!!!  This is the time of year where we just indulge and don’t think about it.  Well, think about the consequences.  It will be that much harder to lose in January:)))  Just sayin’!

3. Mantra for the day:  Make the Investment!!!

We are all given the same 24 hours in the day.  How are you using it.  Just like we need to be fully present to live in the moment and intentional about our food choices, we need to do the same with our time management.  You will be busy!  We’re all busy!  Make your health and fitness a priority.  Its non-negotiable.  If you wait for perfect conditions, it will never happen.  It’s going to be inconvenient.  It will be too cold or too hot.  It will be too early or too late.  Whatever the excuses are, it’s time to STOP IT and make a decision!  Learn to multi-task.  Take your babies in the stroller and go for a walk, go for a walk with your spouse or friends.  Whatever it is, figure out what works for you and do it. Train hard and be disciplined this week!

Have a beautiful day! I love you guys and I’m rooting for you:)

Day 19 & 20 of 60 Day Challenge!!!

Hi guys!!!

It’s the weekend and I have a very busy weekend ahead of me as I’m sure you do too.  Make sure you prioritize your exercise and clean eating for the weekend.  It’s not just gonna happen by osmosis!  You need to be intentional and deliberate about how you plan you weekend.  Have fun!!!

2) Saturday Workout -Enjoy a fun activity with your friends or family.  Take advantage of nature.  Go for a hike, go for a run on the beach, ride your bike, the possibilities are endless!!!  Go for it!!!

Sunday- Rest and relaxation day!  Make sure that you let your body recover.  Also, discipline the mind to be still and to be relaxed.  Take some time to meditate and practice deep breathing.  Read a good book that will help you grow and challenge your character.

3) Day 3 of INSANITY!!!
I woke up pretty sore today but not horrible.  I felt a little stiff and my back was achy.  I taught a bootcamp class in the morning and we did a lot of stretching.  Apparently, my clients needed it too since Coach JC kicked their butts during Kettle the day before.  They came crawling in so it was unanimous, we were going to have a good yoga flow kind of class.  It was basically my warm up for what was to come which was day three of some more Shaun T. punishment!!!

Since this was my first time going through the program, I really didn’t know what to expect.  I had butterflies in my stomach.  It felt like the first day of school except I was by myself in my living room:)  We started with the ‘warm up’ which was killer to begin with!  Then we proceeded to do some crazy drills for three minutes straight!  High intensity drills that sped up at every round.  I was definitely gasping for air and sweating buckets.  There’s a minute recovery period then you go again for three more minutes. The whole workout is only about forty minutes long but it felt like an eternity!!! I was pretty proud of myself because I hung in there.  I paced myself and was able to do about 90% of the workout.  So during the last six minutes, I revved up my engine and committed to go full out 100%%%  since this was the last round, I was digging deep to give it all I had.  Well, I miscalculated the time and after the one minute break, Shaun T. says, “We’re doing it again!!!”  I was in shock!  I picked myself up and dragged my booty back up to do it one more time.  I was so exhausted by this point that I started to cry.  It wasn’t a little whimpering cry but a LOUD I’m gonna finish this if it’s the last thing I do kind of cry!!!  I dug deep and persevered and it felt AWESOME!!!  I can’t wait to do it again tomorrow!

3) Mantra for the Day-Wisdom from Michael Jordan!  This says it all!!!

Love you guys and I’m rooting for you!!!  XOXO:)))

Day 10 of Spring Clean Challenge!!!

Oh yeah!!!  We made it to day 10!!! WOW!  That wasn’t too bad was it!?!?  We are done with our ten day detox.  You can add one ‘clean’ treat to your diet.  Continue to eat clean and don’t sabotage your progress.  You will be amazed at how delicious ‘clean’ treats are!  Find a new way to reward yourself when you hit certain goals.  Get a massage, mani/pedi, buy a new workout outfit, watch a movie, get a new book, download some new tunes.  Let’s get out of the habit of giving ourselves food rewards for losing weight!  Kind of defeats the purpose don’t you think?

1. Wednesday- Upper body workout.  One of the greatest upper body workouts IMHO is the push up.  When you master the push up, you will gain upper body strength and will continue to grow.  Add a few push ups to each rep and track your progress.  Try to do at least twenty push ups per day.  You can start on your knees and work you way up.  (Check the exclusive page for videos)

Check out this site…  Join the challenge!!!

2. Food- Food is not the enemy.  We have to learn how to eat the right foods to fuel our body.  The reason we do the ten day detox is to quit cold turkey and decide that we are not going to be ruled by our cravings any longer.  We realize it is very difficult!  Now that we are done with the detox, eat things in moderation.  Try to eat as clean as possible.  You will not gain all the wight back with one slice of cake.  If you have cake everyday for a month, then you will most likely gain it back and then some.  Learn the science of weight loss.  Do the math!  Be mindful and intentional.  You can do this!!!

Here’s some words of wisdom from Coach JC!  “And some advice for those of you that are addicted to weighing yourself! Stop it, stop it, stop it! Stop getting wrapped up in the numbers. Maybe weigh yourself every two weeks, not every day. Yes, muscle weighs more then fat, so if your working out, your almost always gonna put some weight on first, it just happens that way. I try to focus on , “how do I feel?” instead of “how much do I weigh?”.
And there you have it folks:)))

3. Mantra for the Day:  When there’s a will, there’s a way!!!
Here are some excuses I hear, “I don’t have time.”, “I don’t have a gym membership.”, “I don’t have the money to eat healthy.”, “I don’t know how to cook.”, “I just have bad genes.”, “I’m big boned.”, “I hate working out.”, “It’s too cold.”, “It’s too hot.”, “I can’t do it!”, waa, waa, waa,……*insert whiny voice*  OK Ladies, it’s tough love time.  We were all given the same 24 hours in a day, we can make this happen if we really want to.  Excuses will get you NOWHERE!!!  Action produces results!!!  Even if you decided to work out for fifteen minutes a day hard core, I bet you would find the time to keep on going.  You have to want it bad enough or you will just remain the same.  Make a decision.  Tell your excuses to SHUT UP and keep moving!!!  You have the tools here to be successful.  Now do it and watch yourself morph into the person you we’re designed to be!  XOXO:)))

OK..I think you get the picture:)))  Love you guys and I’m rooting for you!!!
