Day 3 of Spring Clean Challenge!

Day 3

Hello party people!!!  Thank you so much for joining us on this amazing journey of healing, health, and wellness.  I am so proud of you guys for really engaging this part of your life.  You are going to learn tools for the rest of your life.  This is not just a lose weight quick phase.  We’re in this for the long haul.  Looking forward to learning with all of you.

1. Thursday- Yoga Day!  I love yoga because no matter how many years you’ve been practicing, there’s always room to grow.  Yoga keeps me humble because you never arrive!  Just when you think you have something down, there’s a variation of the pose that will challenge the tar out of you!  So push yourself, go to your edge, and keep challenging yourself.  Most importantly, breathe…

2.  When you fail to plan, you plan to fail.  Take the time to sort out your food and snacks into single servings.  This might seem like a pain in the butt but it will pay off.  Especially when your day is busy and you have to drive kids all over town, it seems easier to go to the drive thru when you are starving and you have starving kids yelling for food.  Pack snacks for them too.  You will save money and feel great that you are giving your family healthy options. Be inspired!!!  Check out these pictures. I want to be this disciplined:)))

3.  Mantra for the Day:  This is my Moment!
Why not take advantage of this moment?  What are you waiting for?  Lately,  there has been intense situations going on personally.  Friends and family with life threatening illnesses, friends losing loved ones, families being ripped apart.  Life happens.  In this time of your life, ask yourself if you are taking advantage of every opportunity?  Are you seizing the day?  This will not happen by wishing and hoping things will work out.  How are you actively pursuing your goals?  As it pertains to fitness, ask yourself if your actions or lack of action is taking you closer to your goals.  It’s a decision.  You are either going to live your life by design or by default.  So take this moment…don’t wait another day….stop procrastinating and take action.  Every day do something to actively go after your dreams.  Stay consistent and take advantage of our exclusive member’s page for support and encouragement.  Remember, you got this!!! Every little step leads to a shift and then momentum snowballs!!!

Love you and I’m rooting for you!!!  XOXO:)))

Pictures in a Magazine….

Hello!

I’m really trying to get back to my blogging but summer has been a little crazy!  I hope you guys are doing well and enjoyed your time off.  Our family went to Austin, TX for our family vacation and ended up eating our way through Texas!  WOW!  I’ve never had so much meat in my entire life!!!  It took a while to recover but it was worth it!!!
So today I took my daughter to the dentist and picked up a fashion magazine.  It’s been a while since I picked one up.  Is it just me or are fashion models skinnier than ever???  I was shocked that each page was filled with emaciated women full of skin and bones.  Has it always been that way?  It really made me sad because being in the fitness industry and seeing people of all shapes and sizes these models are not the norm.  I know we talk about this quite a bit and how the media sensationalizes these skinny celebrities but it’s still shocking that we think this is the standard.

I know this is a topic that is discussed often and I applaud Israel for banning the skinny models from their magazines.  I just think it’s so unhealthy and it’s not attainable.  I also heard that Vogue is doing its part to ban the ultra skinny models.  Bravo!

Being in Austin was interesting.  Austin is one of the fittest cities and people are very health conscious.  We went to a few swimming holes and saw people in all shapes and sizes.  Living in Los Angeles we see what’s called “California Skinny”.  I actually noticed a difference.  It’s as if we always have to be ten pounds less our ideal weight in case we have to be on camera! LOL!  (I say that because that’s what I used to do) People in LA are really into their body image, myself included.  When I was in Austin i felt like I could just relax and eat a rib or two!  I could also eat homemade ice cream and not feel one ounce of guilt.  Shouldn’t life be lived that way???  I know this may come off as stereotypical and it’s not meant to offend anyone.  I was just making some observations and wanted to put it out there.

I realize that I have an even bigger desire to help and empower women all over the world, especially in Los Angeles to LOVE their bodies, LOVE themselves and to stop comparing.  I can definitely obsess about my weight and what I eat.  I am going to let it go and be healthy.  I’m going to enjoy and make good choices.  If I splurge here and there, I am going to give myself permission.  I’m going to enjoy how God designed me and stop trying so hard.  I find myself not being satisfied sometimes.  I finally reached my goal weight this year.  I did it the old fashioned way, by exercising and eating clean.  No gimmicks, no fads, no diets.  I feel wonderful and amazing.  But, I continue to hear the voice in my head, “just a couple more pounds..”  Here’s a tip ladies…..once you reach past forty, it’s not very attractive to be super skinny.  Our skin and other parts begin to sag and our noses start to get too big for our skinny faces! LOL!  Seriously, just keeping it real.  Older women should have a little meat to their bones and they look much better.  Trust me.

After I looked through the magazine, I realized how detrimental it was to look through these pictures and be bombarded with these images in my head.  I guess I wasn’t missing much and definitely won’t be picking up another one anytime soon.  I hope you’ll put yours down too.  Let’s look at the natural beauty in everyone and stop thinking that everyone needs to look like a size two!!!  Love you guys and let’s do this together:)))))

Much Love,

Judy

Day 21 of 30 Day Challenge!!

Day 21

Hello, I hope you guys are doing well.  Please let us know how you’re doing and if there’s anything we can do for you.  Sometimes we just need that little extra push or encouragement.  Sometimes, we need to be reminded why we’re doing this.  Sometimes, we need to get a swift kick in the butt too:)  Whatever you need today, make sure you reach out and get it.  If you want something bad enough you have to be willing to put yourself out there and be vulnerable.  It’s OK to ask for what you want and what you need.

1) Yoga Day- Practice some time to stretch, meditate, breath, and focus.  Enjoy yoga with friends:)))

2) Make the investment in your health and wellness NOW!  Don’t wait until your body starts falling apart.  Do it NOW!  Do it while you’re still young so you can enjoy the benefits of clean eating and working out.

3) Mantra for the Day-  Success=Action

Love you guys and I’m rooting for you!!!  XOXO:)))
