1) Friday- CORE day!
I love working on my core.  This is the weakest part of my body and I love challenging it to make it strong:)  One of the most effective workouts for the core are planks. There are many variations of plank exercises.  Just do it!!!

 

2) Food- Super food of the day- KALE!!!
I love kale salads, kale shakes, and baked kale chips.  Try it today:)))

 

3) Mantra for the Day- Be Consistent!!!
So, you started off the year with high hopes and a new, New Year’s resolution!  Well, here we are, 31 days in and you don’t look like a super model yet.  Well, sorry to burst your bubble but it won’t happen in 31 days.  It’s about being consistent, having self control, and being self disciplined.  I know, it’s easier said than done.  Keep doing the work unconditionally.  No matter what the outcome is, keep at it because it’s good for you.  Sooner or later, you will see changes.  Be consistent.  Do it even when you don’t want to.  You can do it!!!

Day 26 of 90 Day Challenge!

Sometimes I feel like the “Little Engine that Could!” LOL..There are days when I am just barely putting one foot in front of the other.  It’s OK.  We need to accept where we are.  Just like life, we’re going to have our ups and downs.  Acceptance is key.  Don’t try to control or manipulate the situation.  Sometimes we just have to roll with the punches.  Maybe in the past we used food to numb, drown, or mask our feelings.  Not anymore.  We are going to deal and use our muscle of self control and perseverance!

 

1.  Friday- Cardio for 40 minutes and 20 minutes of some intense Core strengthening exercises!

 

 

2.  Food- Here are some great tips on limiting your calories!

  1. Planning on eating out? If you MUST eat half and bag the rest. An average restaurant entree has 1,000-2,000 calories. Remember that!
  2. Use a salad plate instead of a dinner plate. Smaller plate = smaller portions.
  3. Never eat out of a bag or jar! You’re bound to eat more than you should. When dealing with jars/bags take the portion of what you’re eating out and put it on a plate!
  4. When eating a meal start with the lower calorie food first! It’ll make you filled up so chances are you won’t eat as much of the fattening stuff as you would have!
  5. Switch to 1% milk. If you drink a glass of milk a day you can lose up to 5 pounds a year.
  6. Keep a food journal! Once you see what you actually eat, you’ll want to eat less.
  7. Follow the Chinese saying, eat until you’re eight tenths full.
  8. Use mustard instead of mayo
  9. Cut back on sugary calorie filled drinks. Drink water & green tea instead.
  10. Sit down when you eat, but make sure you’re sitting up straight. You burn 10% more calories that way!

 

 

3. Mantra for the day: Amazing results don’t happen overnight, but they do happen over time.

We live in a results dominated world.  We want results and we wan it NOW!  This can be a bit frustrating when trying to make healthy lifestyle changes.  We have to be patient and remember that our weight gain didn’t happen overnight.  I think sometimes we expect to lose weight overnight because we look at what the media feeds us, we also see people take drastic measures to lose weight.  I’m here to tell you that it will take time to lose weight in a healthy fashion and keep it off.  So, enjoy the ride.  Don’t get so antsy.  Don’t weigh yourself everyday.  Stop obsessing.  Just make the right choices everyday and you will see changes.

Day 18 of 60 Day Challenge!!!

Day 18!

TGIF!!!  Woo hoo!!!  Well, It’s the weekend and it’s time to plan out your activities and meals.  Remember, when you fail to plan you plan to fail!!!:)))  In order to ensure victory, you MUST have a game plan.  Our culture and society does not set us up to succeed.  If anything, our system is designed to make you fail.  Once your guard is down, you are bombarded by advertising and easy access to unhealthy foods.  Stay present and engaged.  Know what you are consuming.  Keep moving!!!

 

 

1) Friday- Work your Core Day!  Make sure you stretch and cool down with every workout.  It’s very important to be warmed up before you engage in any exercise activity.  Stretch before and after too to prevent injuries.

 

 

 

2) INSANITY Day 2- Well, I thought I was going to breeze through this program.  I already do a lot of the moves in my bootcamp classes that I teach.  I totally underestimated the workout and as I’m writing this, my body feels like I ran into a mac truck!!!  It was definitely an AWESOME workout and I can’t imagine it getting harder.  I heard month two is the hardest workout series put on a DVD!  WOW!  Wish me luck:)  Basically, the moves are done in three minute intervals with a one minute rest/recovery.  In my classes, we do a thirty second interval with a ten second rest.  So, a minute feels like an eternity while you’re doing burpees, squat jumps, and mountain climbers.  I do like the challenge and I’m hoping to get some killer results.  All right…I’ll keep you guys posted..stay tuned!

 

3) Mantra for the Day- DIG DEEP!!!
It’s only fitting that I use this mantra today.  ‘Dig deep’ is the INSANITY workout mantra!  Whenever you think you can’t do it anymore, you dig deep and reach in.  There’s so much more inside of us if we dig deep.  I also believe that sometimes, that depth can only be brought out by someone else.  We may not believe that we can do it but if you have someone who believes in you, it’s amazing how that motivates and inspires you to believe it too.  We are opening up our new challenge group this Monday, May 21st!  If you need some encouragement or if you need to get to the next level, let us help you and encourage you to get there.  The secret is in our community groups.  We have am exclusive group that helps with accountability and encouragement.  We were never meant to this alone.  It’s great to hear real life examples from people just like you who are producing massive results!  Check out some of their stories here!!!  Register here and get two weeks FREE!!!  Change your life for less than a dollar a day.  You are worth it!
