I hope you are doing well.  We are gearing up for our March challenge group!  I hope you guys can join us in March.  We will be focusing on de-cluttering our lives and our drawers:)  We will begin a Spring Cleaning Challenge as well as cleaning out some bad habits from our lives.  I’m really excited about it!!!  Sign up TODAY!!!

3. Mantra for the Day-  Don’t you Dare Give Up!!!
This month we have been focused on relationships. Whenever you have people, you will have problems.  If you are in a relationship and you’re in a difficult season, DON’T.GIVE.UP!!!  Sometimes, you just need to persevere through it. Fake it until you make it!  Action causes emotion!  Just discipline yourself to do what it right, even if you don’t want to.  Interestingly, you can apply this in your health journey.  You won’t always feel like working out, eating right, or planning your meals.  DON’T.GIVE.UP!!!  You will eventually get to a place where you will enjoy it.  Just like your relationship, you will get to a place of deep love.  The more you persevere, the deeper the trust and intimacy.  The problem is that we quit before we get to experience that.  Again, just like our health goals, we tend to give up before we can taste the victory.  Hang in there!!!  You can do this:))))

Day 9 February Sweetheart Challenge

Day 9

It’s Valentine’s week!!!  Be strong:)))  Step away from the chocolates…..Okay…just a have a couple;)  Enjoy!!!!

 

1) Tuesday- Cardio Day
Instead of doing your normal one hour cardio routine, try a shorter, higher intensity routine that optimizes fat burning!  Tabata training is an amazing workout.  Try some of these and let us know what you think!!!  If you’re not sure what the workout is, go ahead and check Youtube:)))

 

 

2) Food- Clean Treats!  Healthy Frappuccinos

(Serves 2)

  • 2 cups milk of choice
  • 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp instant coffee (I use Mt. Hagen decaf, but regular is ok too.)
  • 1/16 tsp salt (don’t omit)
  • sweetener, such as 3 nunaturals stevia packets (or 2-3 tablespoons sugar)
  • optional: a reader suggested adding 1-2 tsp fruit pectin for even extra thickness

Mix the ingredients together in 1 or 2 shallow plastic containers. Freeze. (You could also use an ice cube tray.) Once frozen, pop the blocks out of the containers. Thaw until just soft enough for your blender to be able to handle it. Blend each serving individually, until desired slushiness is reached. Add extra sweetener if needed, but do NOT add ice! It will dilute the flavor. Pour into two glasses and enjoy.

3. Love Post!  Write a Bucket List Together:)
Dream together!  Find new interests and enjoy new hobbies together.  Erik and I love to go to live concerts, travel, hike, watch documentaries, go to the movies, eat really good food, go dancing, and go shopping:)  We just had date night last Saturday to see the band Ozomatli and we danced the night away.  Marriage is an investment.  It doesn’t just grow and thrive by osmosis.  It takes work.  Even though Erik and I enjoy spending time together, we are constantly looking for new adventures that we can do together.  When you have children, it’s easy to allow your focus to go into all the details of rides, homework, laundry, bills, yada-yada!  But one day, they will be gone.  I want to make sure that we don’t drift apart.  So, the challenge today is to write a bucket list together.  Try something new together and explore new possibilities!

Day 6 & 7 February Sweetheart Challenge

Hi guys,

I took a little break from the blog but we are full steam ahead with our February Challenge.  It’s been great so far and we are enjoying the daily workouts and the “sweetheart challenge”.  I just wanted to check in and connect.  It helps me to write everyday because it holds me accountable:)

 

1) Saturday and Sunday
Saturday- Activity Day!  Go for a walk, hike, bike ride, skating, skiing, snowboarding, swimming, etc…there’s so much to do!!!

Sunday-Rest Day!  Recuperate and rest your body so that it’s ready to rock and roll on Monday;)

2) Food- Clean Treats!  I’m gonna try this:)))
This month I will be posting yummy, clean treats to give you ideas for Valentines!  Guilt-Free Ice Cream. Two ingredients. Frozen bananas and peanut butter. This is really yummy and something different to do with those brown bananas! (For less calories use PB2)

 

3. Love Post! Marriage Takes Work
This month I will be posting encouraging, sappy, love quotes. I hope you enjoy them.  No matter where you are in your journey, stay open to the possibility of love.  It’s a wonderful, terrifying, beautiful journey:))))

Day 27 & 28 of January Detox Challenge!!!!

WE DID IT!!!  Can you believe we’re done!?  I have to say that this was one of the most successful detox groups I’ve ever hosted.  I’m so proud of you guys and how you really went after juicing, giving up processed food, and staying active.  Thank you for giving me the honor of sharing in this journey with you.  You guys inspire me, encourage me, and help me to stay on track!  If you’re ready to go to the next level in your fitness level, then it’s not too late to join February’s “Sweetheart Challenge” group!  We will begin Monday, Feb. 4th!

The best way to ensure that you will have a healthy treat at your party is to bring one:)  This is what I’m bringing:)))
It’s just mixed fruit with a vanilla yogurt topping!!!  Yummmmm:))))

 

3) Mantra for the Day- Discipline
The key to success is discipline.  It’s what you do everyday that counts.  Everyday won’t be perfect but you have the opportunity to make the best choice every time.  Tonight I was at a restaurant with friends and I didn’t have any good choices.  Everything was either gluten laden or fried.  I waited and made a juice when I got home.  I would have NEVER done that before.  Because of the daily discipline, I knew that my choices would have consequences. I’ve already been there, done that!  The more you put in “good” food, the more your body will crave it.  Believe me, I WANTED those fries so badly tonight!  I knew I would have to pay the price with how I felt the next day.  The price is too high for me now.  I can’t afford to feel lethargic, bloated, sick, and tired.  So, if I can do it, you can too!  Take it day by day.

1) Friday- CORE day!
I love working on my core.  This is the weakest part of my body and I love challenging it to make it strong:)  One of the most effective workouts for the core are planks. There are many variations of plank exercises.  Just do it!!!

 

2) Food- Super food of the day- KALE!!!
I love kale salads, kale shakes, and baked kale chips.  Try it today:)))

 

3) Mantra for the Day- Be Consistent!!!
So, you started off the year with high hopes and a new, New Year’s resolution!  Well, here we are, 31 days in and you don’t look like a super model yet.  Well, sorry to burst your bubble but it won’t happen in 31 days.  It’s about being consistent, having self control, and being self disciplined.  I know, it’s easier said than done.  Keep doing the work unconditionally.  No matter what the outcome is, keep at it because it’s good for you.  Sooner or later, you will see changes.  Be consistent.  Do it even when you don’t want to.  You can do it!!!

I’m getting ready to open up the February Challenge group beginning February 4th! It’s going to be a “Sweetheart Challenge”!!! I’m excited to host a challenge group to help us be better wives in the month of February. We will be focusing on fitness and marriage.
