Day 9 of April Challenge!

Day 9

Well, life is a whirlwind right now.  It’s going at lightning speed and I’m working hard to intentionally stay in the moment.  There are a lot of great things happening and there are also lots of great challenges that we didn’t see coming.  Life is like that right!?  We always want to get all our ducks in a row and for some reason, it just never lines up.  I used to get really anxious and worried about plans not working out my way.  Today, I will remember to breathe and count my blessings.  No one ever said things were going to work out perfectly.  All I know is that some how, some way, it will work out:)))

1) Upper Body Day- Are you ready to get those arms strong for the task!?  Don’t be afraid of weights.  Don’t worry, you won’t bulk up. It’s time for tank top arms and bikini weather is right around the corner.  What are you waiting for!?  If you have an exercise ball, use it!:))))

2) Mantra- You are Stronger than you Think!

Strength comes in many forms.  Sometimes you don’t realize how strong you are until you overcome some great hurdle.  Sometimes, you wonder if you could make it through a tough season of life, then when you do you’re stronger for it.  Don’t underestimate your strength, your determination, your perseverance, and your willingness to push through.  Initially, you won’t feel so strong.  You might even feel totally weak and useless.  Unbeknownst to you, people are watching you and are looking at your example.  It’s a high calling but it’s true.  You are strong and you will continue to get stronger as long as you don’t give up!

Please “like” us if you haven’t already:)))  I will host my next challenge group in June.  In the next couple of months, I will be moving and healing.  Thanks for your support, loyalty, and encouragement.  It means a lot!!!

Love you guys and I’m rooting for you:)))) XOXO!!!

Day 17 of February Sweetheart Challenge

Day 17

Happy Hump Day!  Sometimes this journey is hard.  It’s so much easier to live our lives by default and not by design.  Unfortunately, nothing worth having is easy.  It takes hard work, dedication, and self control to really live by design.  Someone commented how lucky I was to have good genes.  Genes have nothing to do with it!  Actually, my default is diabetes and obesity.  I do not judge people because I could totally see how easy it would be to be 300 pounds and sitting around all day.  I’ve done that before.  I never reached 300 pounds but my mentality was fat, depressed, battling eating disorders, and hopelessness.  I work SUPER hard to stay in shape.  I eat well and I work out consistently.  I wish I could say that everyday was easy and automatic.  It’s not!!!  The longer you do it, it does get easier but it’s not effortless.  So, no matter where you are on your journey, know that even the “experts” are struggling.  I read the other day that Jillian Micheals hates her hips. LOL!  We all have stuff.  No one is perfect.  The key is to enjoy life and balance.

1) Wednesday- Upper Body Day

It’s almost short sleeve season!!!  Well, I live in Los Angeles which means it’s always short sleeve season!!!:)))  Don’t forget those tri-ceps!  Those seem to be the first to go.  Try these!  Let us know what you think.

2) Food- Smart Snacking Ideas!!!

3. Mantra for the Day- Get over Yourself!
Letting go of the ego is the heaviest weight to lose!  Sometimes, we have a chip on our shoulder and we think everyone has an opinion about us when in reality, we just have too much ego.  Ego is what drives us to perform, it drives us to prove others wrong.  Ego will keep you up at night.  Letting go of the ego means resigning from the throne of judgement.  I wrote a status post today that said, “Just because you disagree with someone doesn’t mean you can’t honor them.”  Letting go of the ego means you’re not concerned when someone has a different opinion than you.  In our relationships, we have this idea that we have to agree on everything to be in a right relationship.  This is not true.  Not everyone is going to agree with you.  It’s OK!!!  The key to letting go of the ego is to honor.  If we sow honor in to our spouse, children, boss, employees, clients, and even strangers, then that’s what you will reap.   The more you honor others, the more you crush the ego.  My success coach and mentor, Dani Johnson always says, “If you don’t care who gets the credit, you will be unusually successful!” WOW!  Ego says, “I want to be recognized!”  When you are working so hard and no one notices that you lost weight, you just want to give up and quit.  WHY!?  It’s ego!  Your motives are revealed when you are doing this for others.  STOP the crazy cycle.  Who cares what people think!  Be secure in who you are and WHOSE you are:)))  You are in this for the long haul.  If you give up every time there’s opposition, you won’t make it.  Do it for you, do it because it’s right, do it because you are worth it!!!

Love you guys and I’m rooting for you:)))  XOXO!!!

3.) Mantra of the Day!- Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should!

This is my mantra for 2013!!!  I’m starting now because this is going to be a tough one for me.  I like to DO a lot of things.  I need to settle down, breathe, and only do what is necessary.  I need to practice being more in the moment and not be so concerned about doing everything all at once.  I have to remind myself that it’s OK if it doesn’t ALL get done TODAY.  I put a lot of unnecessary pressure on myself and I need to chill:)  You guys need to help me OK!?  We’re in this together.

Love you guys and I’m rooting for you!!!
